Friday Night Funkin' is an entertaining rhythm game launched in 2020. Tap arrow keys in time to sing catchy songs and gain the highest possible score.
This game was known as FNF which was made by a team of four Newgrounds users. In this game, you will transfer into The Boyfriend to compete with different opponents such as Daddy Dearest, Mommy, Nearest, Skid and Pump, Pico, and so on. You and your rival will take turns singing the same song. After clicking the Start button, the arrows will move from the bottom to the top. When they reach the arrow-shaped spaces on the top of the screen, you must click the arrow keys. Attempt to press the arrow keys in time to gain a higher score than your enemy to win.

Two game modes
FNF has two playable game modes which are Story Mode and Free Play. Each game mode has distinct gameplay.
- Story Mode: It is the main mode in this game. This mode offers 7 different weeks. You need to choose one of them to play. Moreover, you also need to select between 3 different difficulties which are Easy, Normal, and Hard.
- Free Play: It is the second mode in the game. In this mode, you can pick one of the available songs from all the weeks and then play. Like Story Mode, this mode also allows you to select one of three different difficulties. If you get a low score, your score in Story Mode will be transferred to this mode. However, if you get a higher score in this mode, it will not influence weekly scores from Story Mode.
All characters
This game features many characters with different appearances and abilities. Here is the list of characters.
- Boyfriend: He is the protagonist in the game. He has light skin and spiky cyan hair and wears a white T-shirt with a red prohibition sign, baggy dark blue pants, pink-red sneakers, and a backward pink-red cap with a dark blue brim. Besides, he always holds a microphone in his right hand. The Boyfriend desires approval to date The Girlfriend. However, he must battle with her father named Daddy Dearest who is an ex-rockstar.
- Girlfriend: She is the deuteragonist in the game. She is the lover of the Boyfriend and the daughter of Daddy Dearest and Mommy Mearest. The Girlfriend always sits on the top of the speakers and cheers his partner
- Gaster: He is also called The X Event. He looks like a ghost as he has white skin and a scary face.
- Daddy Dearest: He is the father of The Girlfriend as well as the husband of the Mommy Mearest. He used to be a famous rockstar. Daddy Dearest does not approve of The Boyfriend who is the partner of the Girlfriend.
